So, a simple and humble “why” brought us knowledge

“Why”

Why?… why not?… why don’t we ?… why dit it happen again?… why should I ?…

Α simple little word, consisting of just a few letters. It does not have an enviable appearance, and we would prefer not to hear it so many times, because it always makes us do two, not only one, but two difficult jobs: first of all to think properly, and secondly το answer correctly.

Α simple little word, consisting of just a few letters, manages very easily to affect our way of thinking…

We wonder “why” ?

But, we surely know about one thing: In the back of our mind, we like this word and it likes us too. For instance, how would we know about the power of “gravity” if, at the time when that apple fell off the tree onto the ground, Isaac Newton, just picked it up, cleaned it for a while with his sleeve and then ate it ???

Fortunately…

for once again, the simple word “why” appeared and led mankind to qualitative progress. It circumcised with concern the sanity and spirit of that studious man, and the appropriate questions emerged:

Why does the apple always fall vertically?

Why does the apple always fall towards the center of the earth?

Why doesn’t it go to the side or up?

Why doesn’t it …?

So, a simple and humble “why” brought us knowledge

Small and big “why”, emerging through our worries, our grief and pain, our goals and ambitions…

From whom do we get answers?
